How To Join Ooc Blogs On Tumblr

I don't know of any tutorials myself, I'm afraid, but I can show you! It takes a matter of seconds.

First of all, make sure you're logged into your roleplay account. Then go to the right-hand side of your dashboard, and click the little downwards arrow that pops up next to your blog title/url.

Once you've done that, a little drop-down menu should appear — except it probably won't look much like a drop-down menu because you'll only have your main blog listed. But anyway, click 'create a new blog'.

Once you click that, it'll take you to a page that allows you to create a new sideblog, and all you have to do is make it look like so:

image

  • You need to have a title. I don't know why, but Tumblr doesn't let you create sideblogs unless you put something in the title box.
  • Use some variant of the name or initials of your roleplay, along with 'ooc', for your URL. Finding a URL that isn't taken shouldn't be too difficult since you're making it specific to your RP.
  • Make sure you check the password protect box and add a password.

Now all you have to do is click 'Create private sideblog' and you're done! You now have an OOC blog.

But of course, you can't have an OOC blog if you don't let your members in. Additional tutorial for adding members to the blog under the cut!

To add members to your OOC blog, click on that downwards arrow and bring the drop-down menu up like I showed you before. Instead of just having your main blog in the list, you should now also have the OOC blog — click on that. Then, click on the 'Members' section in the right-hand column.

Now, the text in the image above says you have to put in their email address, but that's not true! All you have to do is put in a random jumble of letters, followed by @gmail/hotmail/yahoo/whatever.com, and it'll come up with a link that you can send to someone. For example, I just put in "alkjsdasjad98whfunesakjds@gmail.com", clicked 'Invite to this blog', and this comes up:

You would then copy the link it provides, send it to one of your members on their character account, and they will then become a member of your OOC blog. These links are only valid once! You have to create a new link each time you want to add a new member.

Remember not to promote any of your members to admin status, and to remove them when they leave the roleplay. (These features are clearly labelled on the Members page once you have members).

And that's basically it! That's all you need to know when it comes to making and using the OOC blog. I hope this helped some.
